As a Partners in Practice Local Authority, South Tyneside Council is leading an innovation project, “The Workplace”. This provides a comprehensive support package to young people exiting the care system, recognising that this population may face a range of additional barriers to entering work.

 

The service works with local training providers, employers and other key stakeholders such as social workers to align the needs of care leavers with tangible job prospects and ensure a network of pathways into employment and training.
